We have used this same systems' pulse rate to have family members admitted to hospital. Slip it on your finger, then relaxingly breathe deep and watch as your oxygen level (known as *sats* or saturation) goes up. There are several helpful YouTube videos showing how to find the heartbeat with this device. Once you have heard the heartbeat it is easy to know what you are looking for, and as baby grows you will find the beat growing stronger and moving about the womb when baby kicks or turns. I highly recommend this Doppler for any expecting mom who is either nervous about her baby's health or who wants to connect with baby on a regular basis at home. Having a recording is great for sharing with friends and family who live far from you. I have not found a way to record directly from the device. I can easily record the heartbeat using an app on my phone. I stick with either 1 or 2 as I have found those to be enough to get an estimate of baby's heart rate. Be careful when using earbuds, as you can easily bump the wand or the baby can kick it and you'll get quite an earful!ģ program settings are available, although I usually don't need the manual setting.
The volume control is important, as you want to turn it down when moving the wand as that can make very loud and irritating sounds. You can listen through the built in speaker or attach headphones or another speaker if desired. The device comes with the wand, gel and instruction booklet. At my appointment for 12 weeks the doctor pulled out the same model! Now I can check in on baby when I want to, without having to wait for my next appointment.
I was able to find baby's heartbeat at 11 weeks. The Sonoline B Fetal Doppler met my needs for feeling assured that all is well with baby.
